To begin the forum, John Roberts (Acting Group Manager, Government Recordkeeping Group, Archives New Zealand) will deliver an update on current developments at Archives New Zealand.
Richard Hipgrave, the newly-appointed Public Records Act Audit Programme Manager at Archives New Zealand will give a short update on progress with the establishment of the Archives New Zealand Audit Programme including the final audit tool, and timeframes for the selection of public offices for audit.
Following this, Evelyn Wareham (Manager, Digital Continuity, Archives New Zealand) will speak about the newly launched Digital Continuity Action Plan. This plan contains six goals and 15 action areas to support public sector agencies to overcome the complex issues surrounding the security and future usability of digital information.
Stephen Clarke (Senior Advisor, Digital Continuity), will give some practical tips on managing digital legacy records.
After the break, Hamish James (Manager, Information Management at Statistics New Zealand) will speak about the work his team is undertaking to manage datasets for the long-term as part of Statistics New Zealand's goal to maintain an enduring statistical resources for New Zealand.
To close, Vikram Kumar (Principal Advisor, ICT, State Services Commission) will give an overview of the Open Government Information and Data Reuse work programme. The purpose of the programme is to open up New Zealand’s non-personal government information and data, so it can be used and re-used.
