8. > WIDENING INITIAL PROJECT TEAM

The initial project team should be widened to include:

The organisation may wish to draw on in-house and external resources to assist with the project.

It is important that all members of the project team have a shared understanding and are comfortable with the terminology that will be used as part of the project. For example, the information technology members of the project team may interpret the terms "archive" and "records" differently.

It may be useful to hold a short session for the newly formed project team on recordkeeping and define some of the terminology that will be used in articulating recordkeeping requirements. The Glossary of Archives and Recordkeeping Terms prepared by Archives New Zealand may be helpful in contributing to a shared understanding amongst the Project Team.
