The header of the template, an example of which is reproduced below, contains information about the group of records being transferred.

The elements comprising the header of the template are:
This is the name of the agency transferring the records to Archives New Zealand.
This is the four digit transfer code allocated to the transfer by Archives New Zealand if required. The alpha prefix must be in upper case with no space between the prefix and the number, e.g. D2587.
Agencies should note that the accession number refers only to those records transferred together in one group. All later transfers of records will be allocated new accession numbers.
The name of the records being listed: e.g. correspondence files, electoral maps, etc. This is merely to assist in identifying the list, and need not be used if a number of descriptions apply to the material.
